Elaine is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher who has been practicing Iyengar yoga since 1995. She was first introduced to Yoga in the mid-seventies. In 1993 when she came to California, it became very clear to her that she needed to get back to Yoga in a serious way. As fate would have it, she ended up renting a guest house from a certified Iyengar yoga teacher. It was definitely a case of "when the student is ready the teacher will appear." She immediately embraced the technique and philosophy behind the Iyengar teachings. Observing all the benefits that she has experienced from her own practice the path became clear to teach and share. Elaine has completed the 2 year Teacher Training Course (TTC) with Eddy Marks and Mary Obendorfer. She has travelled to Pune twice, 2005 and 2008, to study with the Iyengars and looks forward to returning again in the future. See her schedule at the Ocean Beach location.
